Bang the drums! Toot the horns! Dance in the street – or in your bedroom if you’re the shy type! After a gruelling trek through the Inbetween, Sleepy Jack’s final edits are finished. HURRAY! Now comes the tricky bit: getting this spooky, fantastical adventure into the hands of all you wonderful readers.

In case you didn’t know (shame on you!): Sleepy Jack is a British middle-grade fantasy epic. Our hero – Jack (yes, the name gives it away) – is a troubled boy who tumbles headfirst into the dreamlike realm of the Inbetween, desperate to find his way home.

But Jack’s not wandering alone. He’s joined by a marvellously oddball group of new friends: the wise Bro-ca-ca, the wild Naughty Girl Yaya, and the noble Sir Herbert Sherbert. Together, they stumble, sprint, and snack their way through surreal worlds: a classroom ruled by alphabet children, a clockwork forest ticking and tocking with menace, and a sweetshop so enormous it could give Willy Wonka indigestion.

But danger never dozes. Jack is relentlessly hunted by his shadowy nemesis, the Dreamcatcher – a crescent-moon–faced horror who promises to make him sleep ‘for forever and ever and then some’.

There will be tears and triumphs, sorrow and silliness, and more than a few surprises. At its heart, though, Sleepy Jack is a story about friendship, sacrifice, and self-discovery. Will Jack overcome his fears and find his way home? Only one way to find out – drift off into the Inbetween and join the adventure!
